What to do in Walvis Bay ?
I. Things to visit and see in the region of Walvis Bay
- Rhenish church :
Located in the he corner of 5th Road and Hage Geingob Street.
Building in 1880 in Germany and sent to Walvis Bay by the early missionaries.
- The port on the 13th Road :
It is possible to have a look at the commercial port in the car, after asking permission from the police station (Security Officer) to the input port (passport required).
- The Esplanade :
On the road along the lagoon, south of the port.
Several kilometers, various views have been developed for Comtemplation flamingos along with hundreds of birds (more than 40 species of seabirds).
The most interesting is at the end of the lagoon (shown), equipped with many posters.
- Walvis Bay Museum :
Open Monday to Friday (9am - 13h 14h - 16h30) and Saturday from 10am to 12pm.
The engtrée is free.
This small museum illustrates the develloppements successive base and its links with the sea (exhibition of old photos, history of the railway ...).
